Vikash Educational Charitable Trust is a not-for-profit organisation that has been striving since 1993 to provide scholarships to poor, needy & meritorious students.
As a responsible citizen, every successful person should adopt the objective of giving back to the society from which they have gained so much.With this in mind S.C Choudhury, IRS(Retd) started Vikash in 1993 in Nailo village of Jagatsinghpur district of Odisha.Vikash sought out poor and deserving rural students due to poverty and ignorance. The Trust started with three students that year and till date it has helped over 8000 students achieve their dreams of education and success.
Vikash is run by volunteers who are well established professionals in their respective fields and are dedicated to the cause of education for the deserving poor. These volunteers are from all over Odisha as well as from other parts of the world.They unearth intellectual gems from rural areas and help them flourish and join the mainstream of nation building.They also ensure that every bit of donation received reaches the needy and deserving students.
Students with superior abilities contribute towards the growth and prosperity of society through achievements in science, technology andhumanities.It is the mission of the Trust to ensure that no such talent goes waste and to provide enabling facilities in the form of financial assistance, mentoring, guidance, and encouragement.
Objectives:
- To locate aspiring and bright students from rural areas who are unable to continue their education for the lack of finance, parental guidance, and ignorance
- To locate donors for such students and channelize their assistance directly to the needy students to enable them to pursue higher and technical education
- To provide the students with the appropriate environment as well as backup for education
- To inspire compassion link to social and moral responsibilities
- To establish libraries and reading rooms for students
- To provide mentoring, guidance and coaching to aspiring students

Subhas Chandra Choudhury, IRS(Retd)
Mr Choudhury served as the Chief Commissioner of Customs and Central Excise in the Indian Revenue Service.Presently, he is the Director,Saadhav Shipping Ltd; President,Utkal Sanskrutika Samaj, Visakhapatnam; Chairman, SEEDS, India; Trustee, North South Foundation; Trustee, Kalinga Nursing school, Bhubaneswar and Chairman,Vikash Educational Charitable Trust. He has extensive experience in tax administration. He is also the head of Taxmen Odisha, Bhubaneswar
Meera Choudhury,
Mrs Choudhury is a social worker.Currently, she is the Vice President of Utkalini Delhi, Vice Chairman of Editorial Board of Arunima and Vice Chairman of Vikash Educational Charitable Trust.
Dinabandhu Nanda,
Mr. Nanda is the former Superintending Engineer of Water Resources Department, Government of Odisha. Presently, he is Director of Vikash Educational Charitable Trust, State coordinator North South Foundation and facilitator Foundation For Excellence, USA. He has substantial experience in execution of projects and in the administration and construction of temples. He is compassionate and dedicated towards nurturing needyand bright students.
Bikash Bihari Biswal,OAS(Retd)
Mr Biswal is former Additional Secretary, Government of Odisha, and currently, Director,Vikash Educational Charitable Trust. He has vast experience in grassroots administration and as a member of think tanks in Odisha State Secretariat. He is also a social worker and is associated with the administration of religious places
Nityananda Sahoo(Retd)
Professor Sahu was professor of Odia in BJB Autonomous College. He has long experience in teaching, conducting examinations, and education administration. He serves as an advisor to Vikash Educational Charitable Trust.
Abasar Beuria,IFS(Retd)
Mr Beuria is a former Ambassador of India. Presently, he is the member of Bodhi Dharma Society, Bhubaneswar; Vice President of Bhubaneswar Music Circle and advisor to Vikash Educational Charitable Trust.
Anurag Choudhury,MA, MBA(GeorgeWashington University, USA &IIM Ahmedabad)
Mr Choudhury is ex-advisor to Govt of Odisha on Crime and Criminal Tracking Networking and Systems (CCTN) (member of Chief Secretary’s apex committee on CCTNS; Member of Home Secretary’s Committee on CCTNS; member of Director General of Police’s Empowered Committee on CCTNS).He is a Trustee of Vikash Educational Charitable Trust and is currently working at Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad
